Methods to solve uneven ink color in on-site printing
First of all, we need to know that uneven ink color in general printing is manifested as two types: uneven water patterns and uneven orange peel.
The reason for these two phenomena is that the uneven water pattern color is mainly due to the intaglio carving being too deep and the low viscosity of the ink. The main reason for the uneven orange peel ink color is the addition of excessive polar solvents such as butanone to the ink; Secondly, the high viscosity of the ink leads to poor leveling performance; The third issue is the quality of the embossing roller, which leads to uneven pressure on different parts of the printing plate cylinder during printing.
If the reason has been found, what are the solutions?
Contact plate making enterprises to find the matching results of plate cylinder, ink, and printing conditions through testing. Based on this, plate making enterprises determine suitable carving process parameters. The intaglio plate produced through this process has strong adaptability in solving uneven printing of spot color plates on the spot.
When receiving new work, communicate with the customer in a timely manner and try to avoid carving the spot color plate too deep. If the intaglio carving is deeper, the working viscosity of the ink can be appropriately increased while ensuring the ink leveling.
For uneven orange peel in spot colors, reduce the viscosity of the ink appropriately for the second one, lower the pressure of the embossing roller appropriately for the second one, and try to increase the printing speed as much as possible.
Reasonably adjust the solvent ratio and ink working viscosity. When the printing speed exceeds 100m/min, the viscosity of the ink is generally controlled at around 20-26s, and fast drying solvents can be appropriately increased in the solvent ratio.
